I was in Best Buy using one of their laptops to get some technical data on one of their clearance items. A young fellow stepped up beside me and offered to pray for me. When I accepted his offer he dropped his jacket on the floor, placed his rather large Bible on the jacket and reached out to hold both my hands. He asked that I be blessed financially, mentioned something about a coming revival and then he was gone.
I'm a bit curious about it. I guess he was afraid the store people would usher him out if he was caught praying with customers. Though I can't see that Best Buy would be averse to customers who've been blessed financially. In fact it sounds like they could use a few more customers of whatever financial means.
I guess I should admit that I checked to make sure that my wallet was still in my pocket. Having read about Perigrinus it seemed reasonable.
My wife was over at Books A Million. She said she also had an offer of prayer. Similar modus operandi. So, I'm wondering if this is a new fad. It is certainly much more uplifting than most fads. And I'd be happy to know that such a fad started here in the holy city.
And while I'd love to see a big influx of cash, there are several things that are much more important to me. Maybe these "drive by prayers" could ask what I'd like them to pray for.
